Class one (begins February 24, 2026): Love
This four-week Cinema Therapy experience explores love in its many forms: familial, romantic, communal, self-love, playful love, enduring love, and compassionate love. We will observe, examine, and play with love through film, music, improvisation, and storytelling.

Rather than telling one continuous story, participants are invited to explore different moments, memories, and perspectives each week. Writing may be fictional, autobiographical, symbolic, or observational. Aesthetic distance (creative writing about fictionally created characters as opposed to direct personal narrative) is encouraged, but never required.
We draw inspiration from the Hero’s Journey, not as a rigid model, but as a gentle compass to help orient reflection and meaning.
Weekly Flow (Each Session)
• Opening song to set the emotional theme
• Improvisational games to build ensemble and unlock story
• Curated film clips & discussion
• Short writing exploration
• Group reflection
• Students will write one page per week based on the class prompts and share them with the rest of the class in the password-protected Google Drive.
What Participants Leave With
• A deeper understanding of love in its many forms
• Multiple short creative pieces
• Increased comfort expressing complex emotions
• A sense of confidence, connection, belonging, and shared humanity
• Clarity about what stories or relationships they may want to explore next
This course isn’t about defining love...
It’s about recognizing how love has shaped us—and how we carry it forward.
