The Full Story
Back in the 1980's, an upstart little company implored its followers to raise their voices and demand their MTV (see the fun videos below). Now in 2022, we're doing the same thing for YAX. We have two evidence-based programs developed in a PhD program ready to roll out and raise quality of life measures including confidence, creativity, and communication for everyone in the PD community. That includes people with PD, care partners, and medical and wellness providers.
Please take a look at our video (above) and let us know what you think. And if you like it, call your local PD support group, university, pharmaceutical rep or even your medical and wellness providers and tell them "I want my YAX!" (then point them to our website, www.yesandexercise.com, where they can see the video and what we're all about for themselves).
Why YAX matters: the Parkinson's community is too quiet
While I'm in full agreement with Andy Dufresne that hope may be one of the best of things, it's not an effective strategy when it comes to getting what we need.
* The PD community needs more funding.
* We need toxic, PD-causing chemicals to be banned permanently.
* We need to raise up our voices, collectively, to get our elected officials to act.
At YAX, we improvise to build our ensemble, improving confidence, creativity and communication. We also learn to tell our stories in ways to help us all understand what we need and raise our voices collectively to get it.
